Global Warming Radio Session 4
https://soundcloud.com/aquamanchill/global-warming-radio-session
Greetings once again from the global warming sessions. Global Warming radio session 4 takes you on the usual tour of brazilian samba funk, Afrobeat, Salsa, disco, dub sounds, and breaks. My personal highlights of this edition would have to be: Silvio Cesar’s “A Festa” from the Brazilian Beats Brooklyn compilation. (A great Sunday night party I used to attend @ Black Betty’s bar during my short time living in Brooklyn…Shouts out to DJ Greg Caz and Sean Marquand). A Festa is just a smooth beautiful groove with a funky backbone including the bassline from Stevie Wonder’s “Too high”. Also Onukpa Shawarpo by the Bokoor Band…wow..It will make you get UP AND DANCE IN THE AFRICAN SPIRIT!
On the funk disco tip stateside: some real gems from Chic “I Got protection” (Nile Rogers with the usual throwdown). Also The Beginning of the end with “In the Deep” from the brilliant Funky Nassau album, and last but not least, Unlimited Touch with the always jammin Larry Levan library, classic “I hear Music in the streets”Enjoy the grooves, Peace!
