Brighton was a vibe. The coast truly takes you into a different dimension than the one you experience in London. Its a much more chill and relaxed laid back vibe away from the dreary grind of the Massive overcrowded city. One thing that is maintained is the UK exquisite taste & devotion to quality music. There were plenty of record stores to visit. Two of them I visited were rarekind records<\/a> filled to the brim with vintage funk disco soul and reggae with a helpful and friendly staff. It was a nice walk into the city center and I could easily have spent hours digging if time permitted. Capsule Records <\/a>was a nice compact shop with a dense collection of soul jazz rock hip hop classics and beyond. They have a very nice layout on their webpage to access the gems!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Superfly Records Paris<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I had the opportunity on the last day of my visit to grace a couple of top tier record stores
Superfly had a deep selection of Funk Soul Afro Brazilian, Latin, Disco & Jazz (repress & originals) in a well organized layout with a friendly & knowledgeable staff. I spent three hours combing the bins & easily could have spent the whole day if time permitted. Definitely a must stop shop if you ever make it to Paris.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There was a significant variety of records in the bargain section and a strong balance of new sealed presses both new and repress. Listening stations available. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Music Please <\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The next stop in Paris was Music Please. I got hipped to some vintage french Funk\/Disco Soul Records and copped a legendary samplers record. When I inquired about top notch Vintage French funk and soul the owner did not hesitate in laying out albums that most certainly fit the bill. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

My favorites from the day include (from the \/french Connection Compilation) Jean Claude Petit’s turn around<\/a>, a bright and sunny groove that sounds like a nice cup of coffee on a Friday morning in a busy cafe and Cortez’s a winning team<\/a> which gives a jazzy funk ride with smooth female vocals that make you feel like ..a winner. Heavy Bangers from the French Rare Groove Compilation include Skyway<\/a> (another one from Jean Caude Petit!(Dude was getting after it) <\/p>\n\n\n\n
